Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to AskTutors, an online tutoring platform offering personalized lessons for students from Grade 1 to 12, including IGCSE, O Level and AS Level programs. These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("User," "Student," "Client," "you") and AskTutors ("AskTutors," "we," "us," "our").

By accessing asktutorsedu.com, booking a trial class, or using any of our tutoring services, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

Our Services

AskTutors provides personalized online tutoring across a wide range of subjects and curricula, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Business Studies, Computer Science and History, delivered under IGCSE, GCSE and AS Level syllabuses as well as general Grade 1–12 support.

Sessions are delivered one-to-one or in small groups via video conferencing tools or our designated online learning platform, and may include past-paper practice, topic-wise revision, mock exams and mark-scheme analysis. We reserve the right to add, modify or discontinue any course, package or feature at our discretion.

Eligibility & Registration

To use our services, you must be able to form a legally binding agreement under the laws applicable to you. If a student is under the age of majority in their jurisdiction, a parent or legal guardian must register and act as the responsible Client on the student's behalf for all purposes under these Terms.

• Information provided at registration must be accurate, current and complete.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account or booking details.
• You must notify us of any special educational or medical needs so we can make reasonable arrangements.

Booking & Payments

All tutoring sessions, trial classes and course packages must be booked and confirmed in advance through our website, WhatsApp or another official AskTutors communication channel.

• Hourly rates and package prices are agreed in advance and may vary by subject, curriculum and tutor experience.
• AskTutors reserves the right to update pricing, packages or promotional offers at any time, without affecting sessions already booked and paid for.
• All payments to tutors must be made through AskTutors; direct payments to a tutor outside our platform are a breach of these Terms.

Cancellations & Refunds

We understand that plans change, so our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both students and tutors.

Rescheduling & cancelling a session

Sessions may be rescheduled or cancelled free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled session will be charged in full, as the time has already been reserved with the tutor.

Refunds

Course and package fees are non-refundable once tutoring has commenced, except where a service disruption is caused directly by AskTutors. A student who is not satisfied with the quality of tutoring after their first session may request a replacement tutor or a full refund of unused session fees, provided the request is made within 24 hours of that session.

Tutor no-show or late arrival

If a tutor cancels with less than 24 hours' notice for reasons other than illness or emergency, or fails to attend a confirmed session, the student is entitled to a make-up session at no extra charge.

Student & Guardian Conduct

Students and guardians agree to help maintain a respectful, focused learning environment for every session.

• Attend all booked sessions on time and treat tutors and staff with respect and courtesy.
• Late arrival does not extend the length of a session; sessions end at the originally scheduled time.
• Abusive, inappropriate or disruptive behavior may result in suspension or termination of services without a refund.
• Guardians are responsible for ensuring students have a working device, internet connection and a suitable environment for learning.

Tutor Relationship

Tutors engaged through AskTutors are independent contractors, not employees of AskTutors. The scheduling, method and pace of teaching are agreed between the student and the tutor within the framework set by AskTutors.

Students are able to rate their tutor and leave feedback after each session, which we use to maintain teaching quality and to match students with the right tutor going forward.

Session Recording & Quality Assurance

With prior notice, some sessions may be recorded on our learning platform for quality assurance, tutor training, and to create supplementary revision material for the student. Recordings are handled in line with our Privacy Policy and are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Intellectual Property

All course materials, notes, worksheets, past-paper solutions, recorded lessons and platform content shared by AskTutors are the intellectual property of AskTutors or its tutors. Users may access this material for personal study purposes only and may not copy, distribute, sell or publicly share it without our prior written permission.

Limitation of Liability

AskTutors and its tutors are committed to delivering high-quality tutoring but do not guarantee specific grades, exam results or academic outcomes. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AskTutors is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or services, including technical issues, internet outages or third-party platform downtime.

Privacy

We respect your privacy and handle all personal data — including contact details, payment information and session recordings — in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described there.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which AskTutors operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in that jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

AskTutors may update or modify these Terms of Use at any time to reflect changes to our services, pricing or legal requirements. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend checking this page periodically for updates.
